CAFOD, one of the UK’s leading international development agencies, is currently looking for a Programme Officer to join the Andes team in London in order to take forward relationships with key stakeholders and partners and contribute to the implementation of CAFOD’s strategies and plans for Colombia.
Job role
You will manage and develop the programme in conjunction with the UK-based Andes Country Representative, playing an important role in building relationships with local partners and key stakeholders. You will be responsible for carrying out programme appraisals, monitoring and reviews needed to implement and manage programmes in line with our values – especially justice, solidarity and partnership. You will contribute to the financial accountability of the programme and part of your role will focus on programme knowledge and learning. You will also support international advocacy work on human rights and peace in Colombia and help the programme to develop further through funding applications and reporting with external donors.
Your profile
You should have demonstrable knowledge and experience of Colombia and an understanding of the importance of gender, conflict resolution / peace building, human rights, economic advocacy and HIV and AIDS in development and humanitarian work. You should be able to work with local partner organisations and sensitively manage and facilitate relationships and represent CAFOD with a variety of stakeholders (NGOs, Catholic Church, grassroots organisations, government, donors and others) within a fast-changing and complex political context. We expect you to have experience in using programme cycle management tools and demonstrate sound problem analysis, judgment and decision-making abilities. The successful candidate will be fluent in written and spoken Spanish and English .
