CAFOD, one of the UK’s leading international aid agencies, is currently looking for an Internal Audit and Compliance Officer.
This job is in CAFOD’s London-based Financial Assurance Section which provides assurance at a corporate level and a service to all CAFOD managers in the UK and around the world. Providing advice and an assurance function, the team have a key role in ensuring that the CAFOD’s policies and systems are fit for purpose and that risks are correctly identified and adequately managed.
Job role
Working as part of the Financial Assurance team, Internal Audit and Compliance Officers take a key role in monitoring the effectiveness of CAFOD’s risk management and internal control systems. The work involves helping to draw up internal audit plans and carrying out assignments, as well as providing real-time assurance by working with CAFOD staff to assist them in assessing and mitigating risks. There will be a need to carry out assignments overseas.
Your profile
You will have a professional understanding of the principles and methods of internal audit. You will be a qualified accountant or internal auditor, or someone with considerable experience in risk management and internal audit. Good analytical and communication skills are important, as is ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently. Experience in the international aid sector would be an advantage.
